I think they missed the point…
You should check out You-tube, they have the series called “Hip-Hop vs. America” up for viewing, nicely edited without commercials.
I am talking about this since much of the time during the show is about how hip-hop is ruining america… Its pretty funny to me. I think it is more than, you watch a Nelly video and you will know you are only worth what you look like.
This song is pretty damn funny… “I need a tip drill” “Spread my pimp juice”
Why do people get so worked up about this shit.
Oh yeah its because parents have neglected in teaching their children, they leave it up to “teachers” and the television. Seriously, I made it through the entire tip drill and not once did I think I needed to change anything about myself, I did not feel like an object, but I have deviated from my original point.
In my opinion the real problem with hip-hop (or Hip-Pop as my hunny lovingly calls it) is the same problem with anything played on the radio, it is played in efforts to dumb down society.
Have you heard that song above? Stronger, by Kanye West. He uses the same simple words over and over. In fact he rhymes right with right. I do not want to take away from the fact the song has a great beat. In fact this is why he is able to get away with this shit.
The man responsible for those beats was not Kanye, although he is a great beat maker, it was timbaland.
The song above is called, “The Way I Are”, does no one else have a problem with this crap. The way I are, sounds like someone is either retarded or is trying to make something rhyme. I think it is both personally. But I also do not think this is a coincidence.
Why you may ask? Great beats hook your attention, it is hard even for me not to pay attention. This is the greatest means of brainwashing available. Things that get said in songs get said in conversation. This is true for all forms of music, they have been saying for years that women should listen to classical music when pregnant, why? Because the music hooks the infants attention.
Music is not responsible for the dumbing down of the world, but when used in combination with television, education (schools), generally media, it is definitely a proud player.
During the war soldiers have admitting to listening to Drowning Pool’s “Bodies”. Some play it as they are rolling up on a dangerous town.
“Let the bodies hit the floor” it even sounds like a march. It drowns out your thoughts, and gets your blood pressure going.
I could go on and on. I only want to encourage you to think about what you are listening to, how it affects your mood, and if you have children, how it might affect them.
Now I am off to listen to some more music
“Rhythm is life, and life is rhythm” The great Warren G, as seen below… Enjoy…

I discovered your homepage by coincidence.
Very interesting posts and well written.
I will put your site on my blogroll.
